THE REHEARSAL
Written by Jean Anouilh
Translated by Jeremy Sams
Starring Frances Conroy, Roger Rees and David Threlfall
Directed by Nicholas Martin
Roger Rees and David Threlfall, the two stars of the internationally acclaimed theatrical event, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, will return to Broadway in Roundabout Theatre Company's new production of Jean Anouilh's The Rehearsal, directed by Nicholas Martin, in a new translation by Jeremy Sams ("Indiscretions").
It could be subtitled, 'The director, his mistress, his wife and her lover.' In this stylish mix of comedy, tragedy and deception set in 1950 France, the characters begin little by little to slip into the past as they rehearse a Marivaux play. The London Daily Mail cheered, "Anouilh has created one of his 'pieces brillantes' in which he nimbly whips up serious themes into the lightest, most delectable of theatrical soufflés."

THREE SISTERS
by Anton Chekhov
translated by Lanford Wilson
directed by Scott Elliott
Amy Irving, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Lili Taylor lead this all-star cast directed by Scott Elliot (Present Laughter, Curtains). This deeply human drama depicts a world of hopeless dreams and nostalgia, evokedby three educated Muscovite sisters, stranded in a provincial backwater by the death of their father. They long to return to Moscow and the happiness of their youth.

LONDON ASSURANCE
by Dion L. Boucicault
directed by Joe Dowling
Brian Bedford, an acclaimed interpreter of classical farce who was the toast of Broadway in The Molière Comedies two years ago, returns in this bouyant and brilliant 19th-century comedy of manners. Written by a playwright whose comedies influenced the likes of Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw, it is a hilarious send up of the love intrigues of the leisured classes.

Music & Lyrics by Sherman Edwards

Based on a concept by Sherman Edwards
Directed by Scott Ellis
When 1776 opened on Broadway nearly 30 years ago, it was the sleeper hit of the season and made "musical" history. Its warmth, ingenuity, brilliant dialogue, unforgettable music and inspired caricatures of the founding fathers won over audiences and reviewers alike. Roundabout Theatre is proud to present the first Broadway revival of this classic American hit, starring Brent Spiner and Gregg Edelman.

MISALLIANCE
by George Bernard Shaw
directed by David Warren
When a polish aviatrix crashes into the mansion of a rich underwear manufacturer, she turns the staid household upside down.
This witty and brilliant examination of an old world confronted by a new one is filled with surprising ideas and bristling vitality. Shaw has never been so delightful or provocative.
