Associate Director of Individual Giving

Roundabout Theatre Company, the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatre company, seeks a personable individual with excellent communication and managerial skills to join the company’s Development team as Associate Director of Individual Giving. The position reports to the Associate Director of Development and is part of a team that is responsible for raising $7.5 million annually as part of a total $16 million goal. This team also supports the final phase of Roundabout’s $50 million Anniversary Campaign.
The Associate Director of Individual Giving will:
  • Oversee renewal and acquisition efforts for the Chairman’s Circle and Friends of Roundabout membership programs
  • Develop strategies to enhance and improve the Patron experience at Roundabout
  • Directly manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects
  • Work with the Development Officer for Communications to develop a cohesive communication strategy for individual donors
  • Supervise Manager of Membership Programs and two Individual Giving Officers, ensuring monthly goals are met
  • Coordinate invitation lists and follow up efforts for individual giving special events
  • Work with Manager of Information Systems to ensure timely processing and acknowledgement of individual gifts
  • Work with Marketing Department and Manager of Membership Programs to promote giving opportunities online and with ticket sales, including subscription campaign
  • Oversee monthly Call Center performance for contributed revenue
Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree a plus. 3+ years’ experience in development required, preferably in a managing role in the performing arts field. Track record of soliciting major gifts must be demonstrated. Excellent communication and computer skills also required. Knowledge of Tessitura or related CMS database a plus.
