Marketing Associate

Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatres, seeks an energetic, results-oriented professional to join the company’s Marketing department as the Marketing Associate.

The Marketing Associate will execute promotional opportunities and sales partnerships for all of Roundabout Theatre Company’s ticket selling initiatives; implement digital strategy for single ticket sales via RTC’s owned channels; oversee outbound group sales efforts and attend trade shows in the travel and tourism space; and work to increase our audience base and reach new audiences. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing, and will collaborate with all Marketing department staff and apprentices/interns. This position works closely with all internal departments at Roundabout, as well as external advertising, press, and interactive agencies.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Marketing on identifying target audiences for specific campaigns and implementing appropriate promotional activity.
  • Work with external travel and tourism entities to increase Roundabout Group and FIT presence.
  • Plan and execute production-based promotional events, and, when appropriate, appearances featuring cast and creative team members.
  • Serve as primary liaison to media partners to develop opportunities for cross-promotional value-adds
  • Execute digital direct response initiatives in conjunction with Digital Marketing Associate
  • Manage Hiptix program for audiences age 18-35
  • Identify new sales channels and partnership opportunities
  • Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
2-3 years theatrical marketing experience required. In addition, the ideal candidate will be personable and professional with a strong ability to multitask. S/he will also possess the following:
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities; a keen ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Attention to detail, excelling in organizing and prioritizing; schedule-driven and results-focused
  • Awareness and appreciation of Roundabout’s position in the New York theatre marketplace
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Tessitura and WordFly experience strongly preferred. Graphic design skills and copywriting skills a plus.
