Tessitura Administrator/Product Owner

The Tessitura Administrator/Product Owner provides administrative support and organizational leadership for the use of the Tessitura software system. He/she will maintain expertise in all aspects of the system to ensure that Roundabout Theatre Company makes best use of the Tessitura system to support the activities of the organization. This includes leading an internal user group to coordinate system configuration and use, implementing requests for changes, reports, etc., and training new users to make most effective use of the system. He/she will also act as project manager for upgrades, and manage business/user issues involved in the upgrade process. The Administrator reports to the Director of Technology.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Act as Tessitura product manager across the organization and in developing third-party integrations for ticket sales through Tessitura.
  • Develop standards, procedures and conventions needed to maintain data integrity while meeting the needs of organization-wide use of the system.
  • Lead data analysis/business intelligence efforts to support Marketing & Development activities.
  • Research, plan, project manage and troubleshoot Tessitura upgrades, including leading planning for use of new features, creating testing plans and staff training as necessary.
  • Update system tables as necessary.
  • Serve as Help Desk contact for issues relating to Tessitura.
  • Lead Tessitura training across the organization. Coordinate and promote webinars provided by Tessitura and any other partners.
  • Lead the Tessitura user committee to coordinate use of the system across departments and ensure effective use of the system organization-wide, leading discussions of project requirements and strategic planning. Assist users with solutions for implementing new ideas and plans.
  • Consult with all departments, gathering user requirements for new initiatives and business process, and recommending best use of Tessitura to support these initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and practices in the use of Tessitura and advise regarding changes and enhancements that will improve operations.
  • Submit and manage help tickets with Tessitura help desk.
  • With Systems Analyst, execute SQL queries and updates as required.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Tessitura developments to recommend new approaches for Roundabout’s use of the system. Attend Tessitura Learning & Community Conference as and NYCTUG meetings permitted. Engage with other Tessitura users via the Forums on the network website and the NYCTUG.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • BS in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 3 years' experience as a Tessitura systems administrator; experience working with or integrating other ticketing systems a plus.
  • Ability to translate technical issues for the end user and translate user requirements into technical requirements required.
  • Proficiency with SQL queries is a plus. * Knowledge of marketing and fundraising principles and practices is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent project management skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and lead other staff members.
