“Roundabout is my artistic home as a director. I am so proud to be part of Roundabout’s history of producing great American musicals. If you, too, love musical theatre, then your life has also been touched by Roundabout.”  Read More

—Scott Ellis, Associate Artistic Director and Director of Roundabout musicals: On the Twentieth Century, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, The Boys from Syracuse, Little Me, 1776, Company, and She Loves Me
Musicals have been an important component of Roundabout’s programming since 1992, leading to the production of 23 award-winning musical revivals and resulting in: 5 Best Musical Revival Tony Awards and over 30 additional Tony nominations and awards. Whether giving new life to often forgotten musicals or bringing beloved classics back to the stage, we have concentrated on works that normally wouldn’t be produced commercially such as our very first musical, She Loves Me. Our dedication to this great American art form and reputation for staging quality productions has not only allowed new generations to see these musical gems, but has also launched the careers of some of the most remarkable new talents in theatre, including Alan Cumming, Scott Ellis, Neil Patrick Harris, Rob Marshall, Sam Mendes, Kelli O’Hara and others.

Roundabout is the only not-for-profit theatre company dedicated to producing a full-scale musical each year on Broadway and remains a leader in the genre—single-handedly producing almost one-third of all musical revivals in the last several years.

We also want to hear from you. Click here to share with us your idea for which musical you think would be best for us to produce in a future season.
