ue to an unfortunate accident prior to the beginning of construction, the entire front building and façade of the old Selwyn office building which housed the original lobby collapsed and was destroyed. In its place, The New 42nd Street, Inc. built a brand new building of offices and rehearsal spaces, part of which would become Roundabout's new box office and lobby. |

he new lobby and entrance foyer were created to provide a gentle and elegant transition from the modern world out on 42nd Street into the classic Italian Renaissance styled interior of the new theatre auditorium. With hints of design elements from the original building, hand blown glass chandeliers and detailed marble flooring, the entrance lobby creates a passage from today into the theatrical past.
