John Stamos has officially made it! Today November 16th, 2009 Stamos has received an official Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star on Hollywood Blvd in LA. Stamos star is #2392 and we think 2393 has a nice ring to it.

Allie Trimm, fourteen, and Nolan Gerard Funk, 22, the leads of Broadway's revival of Bye Bye Birdie, are charmingly age appropriate--in more ways than one: The sixties musical, which follows Birdie, an Elvis-esque heartthrob (Nolan) as he tries to charm the bobby socks off Kim (Allie), is casting authentic. "We're both actually the characters' ages, which is uncommon," says Nolan. "The show is tailored to a new generation yet still true to its time period."

Andrew Jackness, the set designer for the first Broadway revival of “Bye, Bye Birdie”, in the first new Broadway theater in two decades, is too much of a gentleman to say that money is what separates Broadway musicals from all other theater, and that much of that money usually gets poured into the set.

Playing Mae Peterson might seem like a no-brainer. After all, she’s the classic meddling mother, and as she barrels through the musical Bye Bye Birdie, sending her son Albert on an endless guilt trip, she hurls one great laugh line after another. Outrageous, outspoken, and wrapped in fur, she’s the kind of character an audience is destined to love.

Tony Award winners David Hyde Pierce and Chuck Cooper, along with Tony Award nominee Dee Hoty, will provide entertainment at the Active Theater Company's inaugural Gala on October 18 at 7 pm. The benefit event, chaired by Gareth Lake, will be held at the restaurant Del Posto.

If you make it to Broadway this season, you'll find that for the first time since 1961, Bye-Bye Birdie is back. You just can't keep a good man down; maybe that's why Bill Irwin flies through the air in this production. Irwin plays Harry MacAfee, the iconic, overprotective dad from Sweet Apple, Ohio, who loves Ed Sullivan. Guest host Jacki Lyden speaks to Irwin about his career as a clown and very physical performance artist.

It's been done in school auditoriums and regional theaters nonstop in the almost 50 years since its 1960 Broadway premiere, but Bye Bye Birdie is finally back on the Great White Way - and we've got the photos to give you a glimpse at how Broadway is bringing Birdie back.

If the idea of reviving Bye Bye Birdie has you thinking (or groaning) "Camp Spectacular" please adjust your mind-set. "Lots of things that have trafficked in the sixties feel as though they're delivered in quotations, as opposed to trying to make them fresh," says director Robert Longbottom (Side Show). His mission, in defiance of the Broadway trend toward irony, is to rescue both show and characters from that fate - to bring them closer to the true spirit of the 1960 show.

Admit it: When you heard that Gina Gershon was playing marriage-minded secretary Rosie opposite John Stamos in the Roundabout’s revival of the wholesome-as-Sweet-Apple-pie Bye Bye Birdie, you thought, Does she have that kind of range? Well, let’s see: She's sung and danced on Broadway (as Sally Bowles in Cabaret); she can rock out (as front-woman for an all-girl punk band in Prey for Rock & Roll); she toured with the indie rockers Girls Against Boys; she does a credible Italian accent, as a flight attendant in a Broadway farce (Boeing-Boeing) and as a Chihuahua-carrying cosmetics magnate (ABC's Ugly Betty).

Soon Bye Bye Birdie will open on Broadway. We have been following the show for a while now leading up to its opening night. The last time we spoke with John Stamos was at the Bye Bye Birdie open press call. Since then, the Stamos and cast have moved into the Henry Miller Theatre and have been in previews. Yesterday while at Broadway on Broadway we asked Stamos to review his Bye Bye Birdie experience so far.

Now that the Tony Award-nominated choreographer (Flower Drum Song) is directing and choreographing the first Broadway revival of the 1960 hit musical, is he reinventing the iconic charm number in which a songwriter cheers up a pair of sad teen girls whose pop idol is joining the Army?

Last week J-14 was lucky enough to go to BBB's rehearsal studio in NYC to see a sneak peek of what's in store! We saw the cast perform four songs: "The Telephone Hour," "Put On A Happy Face," "Spanish Rose," and "A Lot Of Livin' To Do" -- and we were totally blown away! We even got to sit next to the Tony Award-winning composer of the musical, Charles Strouse. How cool is that?! Afterwards we got to hang with Nolan and chat about the show. He even dished to us his most embarrassing moment so far -- and of course, we got it all on video for you guys!

MYFOXNY.COM - Rehearsals are well underway for the revival of the hit musical, 'Bye Bye Birdie.' John Stamos, Gina Gershon and Nolan Gerard Funk are among the stars hitting the stage of the Roundabout Theatre Company this fall.

Gershon works a whole lot in movies and TV (lately with guest roles on Ugly Betty and Curb Your Enthusiasm). But she's also had a surprising number of other projects going on, and that lineup has often included stage work, even if it's not so high-profile. "There are certain people who only know my rock-and-roll stuff, and there are other people who think I only do this dark, weird stuff, then there are people who know me from comedy. I did a children's book with my brother, and kids are like, "You're an actress," I think I confuse people a lot. But I'm just doing whatever's most interesting.

Don't miss this huge event to celebrate the box office opening at Broadway's new Henry Miller's Theatre (124 West 43rd Street). The box office will officially open at 12:00PM with tickets on sale to the general public.
