Pop Songs of the 60s

Roundabout Theatre Company opened its doors in 1965, a time that also marked the dawning of a brand-new age. As Roundabout began to redefine classic plays on stage, ideas of pop music and fashion were being redefined as a seismic shift changed the American cultural landscape forever. For one night only at our 2008 Spring Gala, Roundabout will celebrate this dynamic time period with a unique evening called Feeling Groovy: Pop Songs of the 60s. The highlight will be an original musical revue created by Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall, director and choreographer of The Pajama Game, featuring today's hottest Broadway stars revisiting the music and energy of those tumultuous times over 40 years ago.

The Spring Gala is an integral part of fundraising at Roundabout Theatre Company, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. All proceeds from this event will benefit our Musical Theatre Fund which makes readings, workshops and full-scale productions of musicals such as Cabaret, Assassins, The Pajama Game and the upcoming Sunday in the Park With George possible.
