Interns & Apprentices

Roundabout Career Development Alumni strives to promote strong relationships and professional connections with all Apprentice and Intern alumni. Through meaningful engagement, communication and the shared experience of live theatre, RCDA serves as a link between alumni, administrators and artists of Roundabout Theatre Company.

Where are they now?

Here is what successful Alumni had to say about their experiences as Apprentices at Roundabout:

Tyler Beddoe
Current occupation: Senior Account Executive at SpotCo
Department at Roundabout: Account Services, 2012-2013
Education: M.A. in Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute, B.A. in Theater Studies and Communications from Elon University
“I always felt like a valuable member of the team and was trusted with major responsibilities. These experiences really helped me to grow in my professional development. They also helped me to find my chosen career path- advertising and media! The apprenticeship program offers such an important, valuable experience to those who are lucky enough to participate. The environment is safe and nurturing, but also demanding and real. It really helps to prepare you for a career in theater administration- whatever your ultimate focus or goal.”

Julie Boor
Current occupation:  Special Projects Associate at SpotCo
Department at Roundabout: Marketing, 2011-2012
Education: BA in Communications, Northwestern University
“My favorite thing about my apprenticeship was that, as promised in my interviews, I really did feel like part of the staff.  I felt like I was given real responsibilities and that I was part of getting the job done!”

Maia Collier
Current occupation: Programs Coordinator at The Center for Arts Education
Department at Roundabout: Education, 2012-2013
Education: Yale University Undergrad
“The highlight of my apprenticeship was working with the Student Ambassadors. The program was new my year and not only was working with the students wonderful, being able to see the program develop from the ground up was a wonderful learning experience. Be willing to jump in, even if it's not directly your job, and stay positive about it.”

Nikki DiLoreto
Current occupation: Freelance Director
Department at Roundabout: Artistic/ Literary, 2012-2013
Education: Boston University, BFA Theatre, 2012
“Ask questions! If someone in is interesting or inspiring to you, ask them to get coffee. Use this time wisely because you won’t be the intern forever!”

Christopher Massimine
Current Occupation: Executive Producer at National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene
Department at Roundabout: Management/General Management
Education: New York University
“Working with the Management Team at RTC provided a real-world Industry education unlike any other. During my time on the team, I worked on a wide variety of high-level assignments ranging across the board from budgeting to union agreements to rights & permissions. The level of responsibility and trust I experienced during my employment is something found very rarely and greatly helped me to strengthen and fine-tune skill-sets to levels beyond expectations."

Bethany Nothstein
Current occupation: Manager of Audience Services at Playwrights Horizons
Department at Roundabout: Marketing Apprenticeship 2011-2012, Special Events Intern Spring 2011
Education: Arts Administration (Combined Concentration), BS and Marketing Minor from Wagner College
“Without the connections that I created at Roundabout I can firmly state that I would not hold the position that I do within the Theater industry. The support I received from my supervisors in each of the positions I held were essential in my job search at the end of my internship/apprenticeship.”
