ROBERT WALDMAN (Music)<\/strong> has written music primarily for the theatre. Beginning his career as a prot\u00e9g\u00e9 of Frank Loesser, his music has been heard in the World Premier and Tony Award production of Alfred Uhry\u2019 s The Last Night of Ballyhoo<\/em>, and also in the Pulitzer Prize New York and National Productions of Driving Miss Daisy<\/em>, for which he won Chicago\u2019s Jeff Award for Best Music in a Dramatic Work. His work has also been in the Broadway productions of The Heiress<\/em> and Voices in the Dark<\/em>, as well as Florida\u2019s Pointciena and Parker Playhouse revue Funny You Don't Look Like a Grandmother<\/em> (which ran for over a year at The Santa Monica Playhouse).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Waldman composed the scores for Broadway\u2019s Here's Where I Belong<\/em> and The Robber Bridegroom<\/em> (nominated for a Drama Desk Award). His music has been heard in New York in Lincoln Center\u2019s Third, The Rivals, Dinner at Eight, Ivanov, Abe Lincoln Illinois,<\/em> Jon Robin Baitz\u2019s Ten Unknowns<\/em> and A Fair Country\ufeff<\/em>\u2014also in David Mamet\u2019s A Life in the Theater<\/em>, Arthur Lawrence\u2019s 2 Lives<\/em>, and Peter Parnell\u2019s The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket\u2014and in Cleveland Great Lakes\u2019 The Glass Menagerie<\/em> and A Christmas Carol<\/em>, Hartford Stage\u2019s musical America's Sweetheart<\/em>, Long Warf\u2019s As You Like It<\/em>, the National Theater\u2019s School for Scandal<\/em>, Kennedy Center\u2019s musical, Swing<\/em>, and The Washington Shakespeare Theater\u2019s The Country Wife <\/em>and Richard III<\/em>. Performances of Waldman\u2019s compositions have been heard in film, television, ballets, numerous commercials, recordings, and concert halls. G. Schirmer publishes illustrated collections of some forty of his piano compositions, among them A Swing Bag, A Rag Bag, A 3\/4 Bag,<\/em> and A Santa Bag<\/em>.<\/p>\r\n","website":"","alt":""}
