CARA RICKETTS (Joan)<\/strong> is a celebrated Canadian theatre actress being named as Now Magazine\u2019s 10 artists of the year and having starred for several seasons at the acclaimed Stratford Festival in roles such as \u201cImogen\u201d in Cymbeline, \u201cRuth\u201d in The Homecoming opposite Brian Dennehy, \u201cPortia\u201d in Julius Caesar and \u201cMaria\u201d in Twelfth Night, directed by Des McAnuff among many other productions.<\/p> <\/p> Recently she made her New York debut as \u201cIsabella\u201d in the critically acclaimed Measure for Measure<\/em> for Theatre for a New Audience. Ms. Ricketts other selected credits include \u201cQueenie\u201d in The Wild Party<\/em> (Acting UpStage) for which she was nominated for a Dora Award for Outstanding Performance \u2013 Female, \u201cHedda\u201d in Hedda Gabler<\/em> (Necessary Angel), \u201cMarianne\u201d in Constellations<\/em> and \u201cSusan\u201d in Race<\/em> (Canadian Stage). For film and television Cara is best known for portraying the role of \u201cBertilda\u201d in the E1 mini-series \u201cBook of Negroes,\u201d as well as appearing in the feature films Jean of the Joneses, Across the Line<\/em> and The Anniversary<\/em>.
