Remembering Michael McGrath
Posted on: September 15, 2023
We are deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Michael McGrath.
Michael’s magic was that his comedy always came from his tremendous heart as a human—and somehow that made it funnier. This Tony Award® winner was a dear friend of the Roundabout community.

Joan MarcusFrom his work in our 1999 production of Little Me, to playing laugh-out-loud characters under the direction of Scott Ellis in our recent productions of On the Twentieth Century and She Loves Me, we are fortunate to have had him on our stages. His magnificent presence is undoubtedly something our audiences will remember for years to come.
We were so lucky to have known Michael. All of us at Roundabout—in addition to the entire theatre community—will miss him dearly.
