Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatres, seeks an energetic, personable individual to join the company as a staff Company Manager for the Harold & Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (Laura Pels Theatre & Black Box Theatre). This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of all personnel connected to the assigned productions. The ideal candidate will be reliable with a collaborative spirit. This person is open to taking on new tasks and challenges and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.


Responsibilities include:

  • Primary and immediate representative of Artistic Director, Executive Producer and General Manager to cast, crew, musicians, and creative team.  Liaison between departments in Roundabout such as Development, Marketing Education and Show personnel (including actors, design teams, stage management) and the press office.
  • Seek approval for invoices and petty cash for accounts payable to submit to General Manager
  • Update Production budget and track invoices for each production
  • Set up company credit cards for appropriate staff; code and reconcile production credit card statements
  • Generate reports for weekly payroll for union and non-union employees of current production(s)
  • Prepare and collect new hire paperwork for new employees
  • Manage all Production house seats for company
  • Act as box office liaison for ticket requests (staff comps, industry requests, etc.)
  • Arrange and organize all travel and housing for out-of-town artists (including visas where applicable)
  • Arrange all ground transportation for celebrity artists and out-of-town actors for productions and press events
  • Attend all performances of productions in both the Laura Pels Theatre and the Black Box Theatre
  • Facilitate press photo shoots, B-Roll shoots and publicity events with the Press Office
  • Work with Press Office to organize and provide all pertinent production information primarily for Playbill printing, including weekly proofing of Playbill for corrections/revisions
  • Help facilitate budget for cast album recording when applicable
  • Facilitating any recording of live Production by TOFT (Theatre on Film and Tape), Broadway HD, etc.
  • Assist General Manager with contract preparation and execution
  • Schedule and execute all Opening Night events with Artistic Department, Development personnel and General Manager.
  • Coordinate with General Manager, Director of Facilities and Capital Planning and House Manager for day-to-day building needs
  • Work with House Manager in coordinating back-stage guests 
  • Maintain familiarity with vendors and trades to help facilitate better day-to-day operations of the space
  • Any other duties as directed by General Manager


Qualifications:

  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work weekend, evening and holiday hours a must. This position requires a six- day work week including working all performances and events.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of Company Management experience or similar professional production related experience
  • Strong organization skills and detail orientation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, reprioritize frequently, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative and make decisions independently
  • High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Creative approach to problem solving
  • Proficiency in Excel

This is a full-time exempt position with the standard Roundabout benefits package that includes medical plan, dental, vision, 401k with 5% employer contribution, PTO, LTD, and life insurance. The salary range is between $70,000–$77,000 yearly.
