A young surfer’s life is cut short. A stranger suddenly has a second chance. And the life-force of one beating heart drives two families and a medical team through 24 hours that couldn’t matter more.

Playwright Kait Kerrigan (The Great Gatsby) and musical mavericks Anne Eisendrath and Ian Eisendrath (of KPop Demon Hunters) join forces with Tony Award®-winning director Christopher Ashley (Roundabout’s new artistic director) and choreographer Mandy Moore (Taylor Swift’s Eras tour) to bring undeniable theatrical life to Maylis de Kerangal’s 2014 novel Réparer les vivants, in our first new Off-Broadway musical in years.

Mandy Moore is a world class Choreographer, Director, and Producer who has won 3 Emmy Awards. She is best known for her work as a producer and choreographer on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE as well as producing and choreographing Taylor Swift’s THE ERAS TOUR. On film, Mandy’s choreography can be seen in LA LA LAND, AMERICAN HUSTLE, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK, BABYLON, SNOW WHITE, and THE LIFE OF CHUCK. On TV, Mandy’s work is featured on ZOEY’S EXTRAORDINARY PLAYLIST, DANCING WITH THE STARS, Britain’s STRICTLY COME DANCING, and THE ACADEMY AWARDS. Recent credits: Dolly Parton’s Broadway-bound musical DOLLY and THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF KAVALIER AND KLAY at the Metropolitan Opera. Mandy is a proud member of AMPAS and a governor of the Television Academy.

Anne Eisendrath

Music and Lyrics

Anne Eisendrath is an electronic music producer, songwriter and vocalist. A classically trained musician, she attended the University of Michigan where she met her husband, Ian. Upon graduation, Anne spent a decade as a singer and actor at major theaters in the Seattle area, including the 5th Avenue Theatre, Village Theatre and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Anne eventually turned her attention to songwriting and composition, where she combines her obsession with electronica and dance music with a passion for storytelling and poeticism. Anne also writes, records, produces and performs her own brand of cinematic synth-pop as the artist “Anniee.”

Ian Eisendrath

Ian Eisendrath is a multiple time Grammy-nominated and Olivier award-winning music producer, music supervisor, arranger and conductor for theater, film, and television. He produced the Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe award winning song, “Golden” from the Sony Animation/Netflix film KPOP DEMON HUNTERS and was the Music Supervisor, Arranger and Conductor for COME FROM AWAY (Broadway, London, Australia, Toronto, North American Tour). Last seen in MJ: the Musical (Broadway), he won Playbill’s “Search For A Star”contest in 2020. She was also featured in NBC’s Emmy Award-winning Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert as well as a featured soloist on season two of CBS’s “The Good Fight.” She was also featured in the 2020 Broadway re-opening cast of The Book of Mormon. JOAQUINA KALUKANGO (Marianne Lamar) received Tony and Drama Desk Awards for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical for her extraordinary performance as Nelly O’Brien in Paradise Square. She also received a Tony Award nomination for her performance in the critically acclaimed Broadway production of Slave Play. For that production she also received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, and Broadway.com listed her as one of the top five performers (male or female) of the year. Most recently Kalukango executive produced and starred as the Queen of Disco, Gloria Gaynor in the Lifetime movie “I Will Survive: The Gloria Gaynor Story” reuniting her with producer Robin Roberts. Additionally, she recurred in both Taylor Sheridan’s limited series “Lawman: Bass Reeves” starring David Oyelowo and on the HBO series “Lovecraft Country.” Joaquina is SAG Award nominee for Cast in a Motion Picture for her role as Betty X opposite Kingsley Ben-Adir in Regina King’s directorial debut, “One Night in Miami.” Other TV credits include Ava DuVernay’s series, “When They See Us,” and “Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia,” directed by Kenny Leon.  Additional Broadway credits include: Into The Woods, The Color Purple, Holler If Ya Hear Me and Godspell.

Juliette Brooks

MAX MCKENNA (Juliette Brooks) recently completed the run of THE HEART at the famed La Jolla Playhouse. The new musical chronicles the 24 hours after a young surfer dies and his parents’ difficult decision whether to donate his organs. Max starred as “Juliette”, the surfer’s heartbroken girlfriend. They recently starred in the Australian limited dramedy series WHILE THE MEN ARE AWAY for SBS. Set in 1940s rural Australia when the men are off fighting and the women are now running the show, Max played “Gwen” who, after getting rejected from the Women’s Air Force, joins the Land Army eager to prove themself as more than a spoiled rich girl. They previously completed performing the Australian national tour of the musical JAGGED LITTLE PILL with music by Alannis Morissette and book by Diablo Cody. Max starred as “Jo”, the love interest of their best friend “Frankie.” They also starred in the national tour of the Tony Award-winning musical DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Max played “Zoe Murphy”, Evan Hansen’s longtime crush who grows closer to Evan after her brother’s suicide. Additional credits include playing the lead role of “Muriel” in the Sydney Theatre company’s musical adaptation of the hit movie MURIEL’S WEDDING. Max’s performance earned them the Best Newcomer Award at the 2017 Sydney Theatre Awards.

JASON TAM  starred in the hit NBC Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, with John Legend and Sara Bareilles, as Peter. Jason’s Broadway credits include Be More Chill (and Off-Bway), If/Then, Lysistrata Jones, and the original Paul in the revival of A Chorus Line. Off Broadway he was seen in The Jonathan Larson Project, The White Chip (MCC), Marry Me A Little, and KPOP (Lortel Award) – a collaboration between Woodshed Collective, Ars Nova, and Ma-Yi Theatre Company. He has also been in numerous regional theater productions at La Jolla Playhouse, The Guthrie, and the Hollywood Bowl. Jason’s TV credits include “FBI: Most Wanted,” “The Blacklist,” “Do No Harm,” “SVU: Organized Crime,” “Hawaii 5-0,” “One Life to Live,” and “Beyond the Break,” and he was seen in the documentary Every Little Step. Jason holds a BFA from NYU Tisch and proudly serves on the Board of Directors at Keen Company.

Q. SMITH was last seen in the seven-Time Tony nominated play Hills of California directed by Sam Mendes. Q. is best known for creating the role of Hannah in the Tony Award winning musical (for Best Director) Come From Away. She is also in the film version on AppleTV+. Q. has toured with the North American Broadway show A Night With Janis Joplin, playing the roles of Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. Before Come From Away, Q. closed the Broadway production of Mary Poppins and made her Broadway debut in the 1st revival of Les Miserables. Off-Broadway she performed the role of Mabel Washington and recorded the soundtrack for Fame: On 42nd Street. Other noted credits include Abyssinia: A Gospel Celebration with Wynton Marsalis at the Lincoln Center, Showboat in concert at the renowned Carnegie Hall, guest soloist for Hillary Clinton’s Vital Voices Global Leadership Awards at the Kennedy Center, and guest soloist Barack Obama’s inaugural ceremonies. She has shared the stage with Gladys Knight and Rita Coolidge in Smokey Joe’s Café, as well as Ledesi and Loretta Devine, and has traveled the world with various productions including Central America, Germany, and the entire USA. Not only is she an entertainer, but a passionate educator. LUCY MACKINNON (Projection Design) is a video designer, motion graphics artist and illustrator. Broadway credits include The Lifespan of a Fact, Six Degrees of Separation and Deaf West’s revival of Spring Awakening. Other recent credits include Blue Man Group’s Speechless (national tour), White Noise (The Public Theater), The Mother (Atlantic Theater), After the Blast (Lincoln Center), The Treasurer (Playwrights Horizons) and Yen (MCC).
