Roundabout Theatre Company is one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatre companies. The Todd Haimes Theatre is a Broadway house and Roundabout customarily produces up to three productions at this theatre each season. This is an IATSE Local 1 position.  The Assistant reports to the Head Electrician and commences August 24, 2026.


Responsibilities
:

The position of assistant electrician is primarily an in-house audio engineer position and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance of the house owned equipment including all PA systems and video systems.
  • Laying out cable runs and submitting supplemental shop orders for each production.
  • Interfacing with designers to ensure a fully working show system.
  • Managing crews for load-ins and loadouts
  • Live mixing our productions (8 performances per week) and/or being an A2 for some shows.
  • Performing mix duties for events in any of our various spaces within the theatre.


Requirements:

  • Fluency in Vectorworks and AutoCAD Drafting
  • Must have a Dante level 3 certification
  • Working understanding of show networking
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • A positive attitude and a willing team player


Pay and Benefits:

Salary is the minimum pursuant to the collectively bargained Agreement between Local 1 and Roundabout Theatre Co. for the Todd Haimes Theatre. Current Rates as of 09-01-25: $41.72/hour, $156.45 per performance, $1,585.36 per week. Other rates of pay may be earned for other activities in accordance with the CBA. 

IATSE Local One Benefits, including Pension, Annuity, Vacation, and Welfare in accordance with Roundabout Theatre Company Todd Haimes Theatre-Local One CBA.

Guarantee of 40 weeks per contract year.
