School Partnerships.
Education at Roundabout is proud to partner with NYC public schools in both school-wide, year-round partnerships and individual classroom partnerships. These year-long partnerships are tailored to meet the needs of your school and can take place in several classes or grade levels. Plus, you and your students are invited to Roundabout productions.
Curriculum Connections Residencies
Connect the content, themes, or skills of one core subject area to a theatrical discipline and a Roundabout production, which the students will attend. These residencies are customized to fit the goals and needs of the partner teacher and students — each workshop is co-planned and co-taught by the Roundabout Teaching Artist and partner teacher. Typically visits occur once a week over the course of 8–12 weeks.
Producing Partners Residencies
Provide the resources of a professional company to engage students in the practice of theatrical skills. Working on a school production with teaching artists in all areas of theatre — design, directing, stage management, and more — teachers and students replicate the functions of a professional theatre.
On-Site Experiences
School-wide partners are offered a variety of on-site experiences at Roundabout, including IATSE Hidden Career Path Days, Student Matinee performances, and Workshops and Add-On Experiences.
To book student group tickets, please visit our student matinee page. To add a workshop to a student group booking, please consider our add-on experiences. For more information about school programs, email our staff.
School Partnerships are supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in Partnership with the City Council, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Hochul and the New York State Legislature, and the Gray Foundation.
