Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit theatres, is seeking an experienced theatre professional to join our finance department as Finance Associate.

The Finance Associate will work closely with the entire finance department, overseeing the flow of all Accounts Payable processes. The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, thrive with both independent and collaborative projects, be a critical thinker and be able to stick to weekly and monthly timelines. This is a permanent full-time position in our midtown office which offers a regular weekday work schedule.

This is some of what the Finance Associate will do:

  • Monitor and route incoming invoices, ensure proper approvals and documentation, and process invoices
  • Cut checks, create ACH files and make online payments weekly
  • Serve as Roundabout’s primary AP contact, maintain relationships with vendors
  • Maintain digital AP files as needed, including but not limited to merging records, creating new records, updating addresses, banking info, and contact info
  • Maintain and manage online accounts
  • Audit/reconcile accounts with vendors
  • Audit credit card receipts and contact departments to resolve discrepancies
  • Manage the tracking and reissuing of uncashed stale dated checks
  • Keep track of the rent schedule for all locations and theatres
  • Oversee online accounts including but not limited to: Postage accounts, Office supply accounts, credit lines with local vendors, credit cards, etc
  • Participate and aid in the annual audit as needed: providing AP selections, fielding process questions, etc
  • Coordinate petty cash processes, including creation, tracking, and filing of advance agreements, working with Staff Accountant to make sure advances are reconciled and closed out properly
  • Assist in the development of new processes and procedures to streamline functions not only in areas of Accounts Payables but also within the finance department and interdepartmentally


This is some of what the Finance Associate should bring:

  • 2-3 years of Finance or Finance/Accounting adjacent experience either through the pursuit of a degree or comparable experience
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and accounts payable
  • Knowledge of accounting software, experience with Financial Edge preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic formulas, other Microsoft office skills and/or SharePoint experience a plus
  • High degree of accuracy, excellent attention to detail and thoroughness
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Ability to stay organized both in physical and digital spaces

The salary range for this role is $54,000-$56,000 annually plus any overtime for hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The is a full-time non-exempt position and a competitive benefits package is offered.
